Balochistan-e Raji Zrombesh unreservedly condemns Pakistani Army operation on Balochistan

Once again the Pakistani army launched a military attack on Balochistan with helicopter-gunships and jet-fighters. The barbaric act of Pakistani military killed around 100 innocent children, women, elderly Baloch by bombarding heavily in Kohlo and other areas in Balochistan. Many innocent people were injured, and hundreds of ordinary Baloch and political activists have been extra-judicially arrested, detained and are being tortured. The use of helicopters and jet-fighters reminds us Baloch people of last Pakistani war on Balochistan in 1970’s in which Iran aided Pakistan with Cobra-helicopters, military men and materials.

Since last year people of Balochistan have been raising their utmost concern on brutal crackdown of Baloch resistance by military of Pakistan. People of Balochistan have been demanding clarity on their concerns and an end to any militaristic approach on Balochistan by staging numerous protest rallies throughout Balochistan since then. The political parties of Balochistan have been seeking a negotiated and peaceful approach to the current situation in Balochistan.

The military government of Pakistan has been on categorical denial of any plan for military operation on Balochistan!

Ashamedly, even shortly after the launch of the military operation on Balochistan on 18th December 2005, the interior minister despite chairing a ‘security meeting’ in Quetta on the following day, insisted that there has been no military operation on Balochistan!

Only two days later Gen Musharaff himself told the reporters that no military operation has taken place in Balochistan only to prove that the Pakistani army is deplorably unreliable and deceitful.

The military has barred all media and human rights organisations from the bombarded areas in Balochistan in order to conceal the extent of their criminality and indiscriminate bombardments.

According to reliable reports the Pakistani army has been deploying more and more troops and sealing off many areas such as Dera Bugti and Kohlo area. In effect these areas are under siege. The fear of further attack by Pakistani army on Baloch people is growing by day.

The Pakistani army is determined to crash all Baloch resistance by force, despite calls from all political quarters in Pakistan. The Provisional Assemblies of Balochistan, Sindh and North-West Frontier along with all opposition parties of Pakistan have demanded an immediate halt on military operation in Balochistan by maintaining that solution to Balochistan issues is not a military approach but a political one.

Balochistan-e Raji Zrombesh unreservedly condemns military operations of Pakistani army on Balochistan, and expresses its deepest sympathy and unequivocal support to our Baloch victims in Balochistan of Pakistan.

Balochistan-e Raji Zrombesh is of firm view that Baloch demands and resistance are just and democratic which can not be ignored or crashed by iron feast of Pakistani army; and militaristic approach is doomed to failure.

Balochistan-e Raji Zrombesh
